Municipal Planning Manager

The Town of Vail is now hiring a Planning Manager to join our Community Development department. Since its incorporation in 1966, Vail has earned the distinction as one of the leading mountain resort communities in North America. This position will manage the planning team and provide leadership for the full development review process. In addition he/she will be responsible for establishing an integrated development review processes that successfully balances regulatory requirements, development needs, market trends and community values. The planning manager fills a critical role in establishing the planning processes for various planning applications and programs; he/she will assist the director of community development in developing and implementing programs and policies, including budget preparation, personnel policies and issues, and departmental operation effectiveness and efficiency.
In this role the planning manager will work collaboratively with other town departments, outside agencies, and the public to represent the best interest of the community while serving as a key advise to the town council and other associated boards.
Qualified applicants must demonstrate excellent work history, a passion for community development and a desire to serve in a world class alpine resort town. In addition they must meet the following requirements:
BS/BA in Land Use/Urban Planning required. Masters or equivalent required.
5 - 10 years of progressively responsible experience in complex planning and supervisory responsibilities.
Extensive knowledge of planning, development and local government policies and procedures. Resort experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide effective supervision and staff management.
Strong verbal, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
AICP preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
