Systems Support & Evidence Technician

The Town of Vail is now hiring a Systems Support Technician to join the Police and IT department. With an already great team on board we are looking to bring on new talent with a background in technology, system administration and a desire to work with the Vail Police department. The responsibility of the Systems Support Technician is to support our internal records management system (LaserFiche) and to maintain and administer systems related to electronic evidence secure collection, systematic preservation, and lawful release and disposal of electronic evidence as well as the administration of evidence management systems. These systems include, but are not limited to, electronic records systems, video surveillance systems and evidence management.
The ideal candidate will have previous system administration experience and pride themselves in delivering outstanding customer service to the teams they support. This position will have the opportunity to implement new policies and procedures while offering their knowledge of industry standards and trends in technology related to electronic information management.
Examples of job duties include:

Use technical expertise to respond to, solve, and own all records management systems issues.
Works with the Town's records custodian (Town Clerk) in the development and administration of records retention standards, schedules and amendments.
Works cross-functionally with business partners, information technology partners, suppliers, and other teams to ensure successful execution of electronic records and information management initiatives.
Supports the development of internal policies and procedures to ensure an effective and understandable program for electronic records retention and storage of electronic company records.
Delivers training to internal/external
l customers and team members on equipment.
Qualified applicants must demonstrate strong organizational skills, a passion for technology and a desire to serve in a world class alpine resort community. In addition they must meet the following requirements:

Associate's Degree or equivalent with coursework in related field required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Must posses advanced software application administration skills.
Working knowledge and understanding of electronic Records Management systems.
Working knowledge and experience with A/V camera systems (resolution, frame rates, etc.).
Ability to learn and understand law enforcement related procedure, policy language and formatting, and criminal and civil laws.
Ability to learn crime scene processing and crime photography.
Be able to efficiently operate Records Management Systems and Evidence Management Systems while practicing NIBRS quality control to include IBRS validation, management and collection modules, and merging functions.
Have high-quality writing skills for use toward policies, memos, manuals, instructions, formal letters and professional editing of such from different agencies.
Have excellent computer skills; extensive knowledge of all Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Application Recovery, Visio, etc., burning and copying media, ACD Systems, Lexis-Nexis, L-3 Communication Systems, troubleshooting computers, mobile vision robots, disc burning machines, cell phones, cameras and memory discs, and most other electronic devices.
Strong knowledge of Adobe, LaserFiche, photo imaging and editing, scanning, document formation and properties.
All job offers will be contingent upon a successful polygraph, psychological, drug screen and background investigation.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
