Job Description
Job Overview:
The main function of a Banquet Server is to set, service, maintain and refresh resort banquets and meeting rooms according to sales contract and company standards. Must provide friendly, efficient service of food and beverages desired by guests and provide an atmosphere of welcome and warmth; generated by a sincere concern for all guests' satisfaction.

Essential Functions:
Effectively model and maintain resort mission statement and guiding principles.
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
Complete opening/closing checklists according to standards.
Carry heavy trays of food or dirty dishes, silverware and glasses.
Clean and set banquet and meeting rooms for functions. Arrange tables and chairs to proper specifications.
Transport and store tables, chairs and other equipment.
Set, service and clear dining tables, food buffets and coffee breaks.
Clean and break down banquet and meeting rooms when meetings are complete.
Keep all banquet space including foyers, closets and back areas clean and free of clutter.
Open wine and champagne bottles for guests.
Carry up to 3 dinner plates efficiently in one hand.
Utilize a cocktail tray for servicing guests. Utilize inventory control sheets for all beverage functions.
Work safely; never lift or push more than you are physically able.
Rotate supplies when storing supply requisitions.
Work quietly taking note of guest functions and public space.
Have full knowledge of banquet menu. Maintain knowledge of options to up sell accordingly.
Make and deliver coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, tea and other items required for banquet events.
Ensure items are delivered on time.
Monitor guests for intoxication and report such findings to manager immediately.
Maintain schedule availability to provide the best assistance to the job related responsibilities to include but not limited to client expectations.
Comply with resort policies, standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
Attend and actively participate in the scheduled meetings.
Maintain complete knowledge of all hotels facilities, layouts, events for any given day and special events scheduled in the hotel.
Other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high
school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the
required knowledge, skills and abilities.
One year previous serving experience, preferably in a banquet capacity.
Must be able to read, write, speak, hear and understand the English language.
Must have strong customer service aptitude.
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to implement and uphold minimum service standards.
Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
Must be able to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally.
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
Ability to ensure compliance with all Colorado and local health and liquor codes
Professional attitude and presentation
Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
Ability to maintain good eye contact and listen effectively.
Position Title: Banquet Server
Property: Vail Cascade Resort & SpaEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
